Fred is a retired schoolmaster who, before taking up teaching, spent some time in the Royal Navy. In addition to teaching he ran the local Gymnastics Club until his retirement.

He has been a member of the Jaguar Drivers' Club for over 25 years and has owned several Jaguars - 3 Mark 2s, and Series 1 3.8 E-Type Roadster. His current Jaguar is a Series 1 2.8 XJ6, which he has owned for 23 years.

Fred didn't really become involved in the Club until he volunteered (in a moment of weakness, some say!) to run the accessories side of the E-Type Register and, despite some early misgivings, is enjoying the experience. He has had plenty of help from Petronel and John.

Although he is 'getting on' in years, Fred hopes to continue with this side of the Club and happily attend as many meetings as possible with the Register's Events Unit.
