Thank you very much for the Reply

The E Type Registration mark is WGC 234F

The Chassis No 1E51174

Engine Number 7E54284-9

It is a 2+2, 4.2 Series 1 ½.

I am informed the Reg number is not the original and the Reg certificate shows the car was first registered 1990 and date of manufacture 1968.

I am informed it is a UK car and the original plate was ‘Private’ and removed in 1990.

Any info of the cars life before 1990 would be greatly appreciated along with any verification of the above.

I have considerable documentation i.e. Road tax, MOT and repair bills back to 1990 but nothing before this time.

The car appears to be in decent condition (not a show car) and has a lot of bills indicating it has been kept running on the road the last 17 years.

Any history on the car would be really nice.

Kind Regards

Philip Parkinson

Philip,

We have no in formation on file about your specific car but the chassis number, engine number and manufacture date are in line with other RHD 2+2 cars from 1968. As regards more specific checking, you could try Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust who hold the original manufacturing records but may charge for supplying information or be unwilling to give information to non-owners of the car. I will ask our Registrar, Petronel Payne, to see if she can advise you on getting further history.

Regards,

David

Is it possible it is actually a South African car imported back to the UK in 1990? I presume the numbers determined RHD/LHD as opposed to UK or export.
Just a thought
